Transition to Secondary School

Next Steps

When children leave us at the end of Year Six, there are a number of local secondary schools they can transfer to.

To ease the transition and help children make friends in their next school, we engage in a number of partnership activities, such as sports festivals and curriculum days.

King Edward VI Grammar School

Many children pass the entrance examination for Grammar School, and we are pleased to be named as a 'feeder' school for King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth. As a named school, children passing the test have an increased chance of being admitted to the school. Over the last five years, every child from a named school passing the entrance exam has been offered a place.

If you would like to know more about this partnership, please ask at the school office, or speak to Sean Chesman, who is also Chair of Governor at KEVIGS.
