Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT) is a Multi Academy Trust which was set up by the Diocese of Lincoln in 2013 to build a mutually supportive family of academies in Greater Lincolnshire who support each other in providing the very best outcomes for their pupils.

Aside from academic achievements, children at our school flourish; our staff know every child by name and we form strong, positive relationships with our children and families alike. We have designed a bespoke curriculum which ensures that children get a breadth of learning in all key areas - from science to history, geography to RE, art to music. Children have the opportunity to engage with a range of experiences in school including trips and visits, residential trips, music tuition and enrichment days which enhances their holistic experience at our school.

Relationships are strong between staff, parents and pupils at East Ravendale CofE Primary School. Interactions between staff and pupils are caring and nurturing. Parents say that they get clear and timely information from the school. This includes information about what their children are learning and how parents can support learning at home. Pupils are respectful and treat others as they would wish to be treated.

Badgers Blasted Off for British Science Week! Last week, Badgers spent the whole of British Science Week exploring the wonders of Beyond Earthand what an incredible journey it was! They started by learning about Tim Peake and discussing the big question: Is the Moon a light source? This sparked lots of curiosity and thoughtful scientific discussion. The children then carried out hands-on experiments investigating asteroid strikes and crater sizes, observing how different forces create different crater shapes and depths. To finish their space adventure, Badgers explored how stars are formed, discovering just how fascinating and complex our universe can be. The week was filled with awe, wonder and brilliant questions. Space certainly captured their imaginations! Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust #BritishScienceWeek #PrimaryScience #SpaceLearning #AweAndWonder #BeyondEarth #CuriousLearners #Wonder #Belief #Joy #LAAT

Spring has officially arrived! At St Martins' Church, the daffodils are in full bloom such a beautiful sign of spring right on the doorstep of our school. We are incredibly lucky to have our place of worship next door, a space we can admire every day and use for worship and reflection with our children. We're already looking forward to our next service in church on 31st March, where we'll come together to celebrate Easter with Reverend Pauline. What a special way to mark this season of new beginnings. Last week, Foxes took part in an exciting NFU Education Farming Live Lesson, exploring different ways food is produced here in the UK. They discovered how sugar is made, learning that although many people think it comes from sugar cane grown in hot countries, England actually produces its own sugar from sugar beet! The children loved finding out how this important crop is grown and processed. Foxes also learned all about how honey is made. They watched beekeepers carrying out their first spring checks on their hives and explored the different parts of a hive. They found out how bees collect pollen, bring it back to the hive, and why bees are such essential pollinators for our environment. A brilliant week of curiosity, new discoveries, and learning about where our food comes from! #BritishScienceWeek #NFULive #ScienceInAction #LearningAboutFarming #PrimaryScience #Wonder #Belief #Joy #LAAT

This week's Wake Up Wednesday highlights how online trends can expose children and young people to violent content, increase anxiety and encourage unsafe behaviours if not understood and managed carefully. At East Ravendale, we support pupils, families and staff by promoting open conversations, awareness of online risks and positive choices helping everyone in our school community stay safe and informed online. Yesterday, some of our Y3/4 boys proudly took part in the Welholme Football Trophy at Clee Fields, competing against a variety of other small schools The boys showed brilliant resilience, perseverance and determination throughout the event. It was the very first time they have gone out and played together as a team, and they did a great job we couldn't be more proud of them! A huge thank you to North East Lincolnshire School Sport Partnership for facilitating another wonderful event for our children. We are incredibly proud to have had our school once again represented this time at the gifted and talented street dance session. It certainly looks like the children had an amazing time! We've received lovely feedback on how enthusiastic, motivated and engaged our pupils were during the session. Experiences like these provide valuable opportunities beyond the classroom, nurturing confidence, creativity and a real sense of joy and wonder in learning

British Science Week in Rabbits! Rabbits have had a very busy day full of science! They started the day exploring the big question: "Does the way food looks change how it tastes?" We compared regular and wonky carrots with plenty of "EURGH!" at first! After discussing where fruit and vegetables come from, we used our senses to look, smell and taste the carrots fairly. Mrs Green prepared them so we couldn't see which was which, and we were amazed to find that selection B were all the wonky ones yet nobody could tell the difference once they were chopped. And of course, all leftover carrot, wonky or regular, was quickly eaten at breaktime! We also talked about how fruit and vegetables, just like humans, look different on the outside but are the same on the inside. Our conclusion? No the way food looks doesn't really change how it tastes! In the afternoon, Rabbits joined the NFU Education Live Lesson: The Big Farming Question. They loved learning about cow poo as a microhabitat for flies, earthworms and dung beetles, explored other habitats and biodiversity, became ecosystem engineers, and even learnt sheepdog commands like "Come by!" meaning to the left. We also met a different type of farm dog used just for barking and yes, we barked too! We learnt why farmers like birds, listened to bird songs, explored what tractors do, took part in quizzes and earned lots of badges. A fantastic, fun-filled day of science from start to finish! Cross Country Success at East Ravendale! Years 3–6 competed today in East Ravendale's Cross Country event and what a fantastic afternoon it was! Many of the children have been practising during their break times, building stamina and resilience as they prepared for the challenge of running around our school grounds. The pupils showed fantastic determination as Years 3 and 4 ran approximately 900m, Year 5 ran around 1500m and Year 6 completed an impressive 1800m course. It was wonderful to see everyone cheering each other on and showing such fantastic sportsmanship. The top 6 girls and 6 boys from each year group will now go on to represent the school at the North East Lincolnshire Cross Country Event at Weelsby Woods good luck to you all! Well done to all the children who took part, and a big thank you to Mrs Wright for organising such a fun and active afternoon! Curiosity in action this British Science Week! With curiosity as the theme of this year's British Science Week, Foxes investigated a classic question: Does toast always land butterside down? They carried out the tumbling toast experiment to test Murphy's Law, which suggests that falling toast always lands butterside down. Using tally charts, they recorded what happened each time buttered toast was dropped. Despite adding more butter and dropping the toast from greater heights, the results were surprising. Foxes disproved Murphy's Law, finding that the toast landed butterside up more often than down. Last night was Week 3 of Mrs Jackson's Code Club, and the children did an amazing job! Members created their very own "Find the Bug" games using Scratch, showing fantastic creativity and problemsolving skills. The children are becoming more and more confident with Scratch and coding, and they're working really hard on debugging and fixing errors too Next week, they'll be coding a creature whose eyes move as you move the mouse – we can't wait to see the results! Well done to everyone involved – keep up the brilliant work! Hedgehogs Kick Off British Science Week! Hedgehogs Class started British Science Week with lots of excitement! They observed daffodils as they bloomed, sketched what they could see and recorded their ideas. A photo was taken at the end of the day so they can compare the changes. As part of their superhero topic, the children explored the superpower of magnetism learning how magnets work, testing different materials and sorting them into magnetic and not magnetic. They also enjoyed searching for hedgehogshaped paperclips in sand after watching a video about a giant magnet collecting metal. A brilliant first day of Science Week!
